The Friendly One-Stop Shop for Office and Warehouse Furnishings

Schäfer Shop is a one-stop shop in three main areas: office furniture, office supplies, and warehouse/workshop furnishings. The product range encompasses over 100,000 items sold via an online shop, and they also have a showroom with a pickup market located in Oensingen.

At their Swiss headquarters, there's also a 24-hour warehouse with over 10,000 immediately available products, typically delivered to the customer on the next working day, thanks to the tireless efforts of long-standing employees.

Varied Ergonomic Requirements

Previously, shorter employees in the 24-hour warehouse had to stretch to reach the desired packing materials or stuffing materials.

Also, the work surface was not at the ideal height. For taller individuals, the tabletops were too low, and makeshift adjustments had to be made to achieve the desired height.

Issues with Printing Devices

Printer issues were either not recognized or recognized too late because the printer's display was not visible.

Refilling paper or changing the cartridge required time, skill, and a bit of luck.

Solution

Adjustable and Ergonomic Workstations

Thanks to height-adjustable tables, customizable setups, and drawers for the printers, an ergonomic work environment tailored to the individual needs of the employees has been created.

The conveyor belt was also adjusted to the individual table height, eliminating the need to lift packages.

Surveys among the team have shown that these new elements are not only ergonomic but have actually contributed to an increase in employee satisfaction.

What we recommend to our clients is therefore also in use within our own operations and is now undergoing extensive testing.
