For over 85 years, Schmid AG energy solutions has been a leading family business in the renewable energy sector.
Their broad product portfolio ranges from wood heating systems (logs, wood chips, pellets) and heat pumps for single-family homes to wood-fired systems with 8 MW for district heating and industrial applications.
New Location for Warehouse Management
Schmid AG faced the challenge of setting up a new warehouse in raw construction in Laupersdorf that not only meets high standards of efficiency and ergonomics but also integrates scalable solutions for the future.
The existing warehouse structure was inadequate for the growing demands and required a fundamental redesign at the new location.
Needs Analysis and Concept Development
Through intensive discussions with the warehouse team and team leader Remo Schöni, specific requirements and challenges were identified. The goal was to create a flexible, efficient, and safe warehouse environment.
Christian Franzke, shelf inspector and warehouse expert from Schäfer Shop, conducted a detailed inventory analysis to determine the exact needs.
Planning and Design
Christian Franzke and his team developed a customized warehouse concept based on ergonomic storage solutions, optimized workflows, and sustainable materials.
The planning included the integration of flexible storage units, modern shelving systems, and efficient routing to improve daily work processes. The design was supported by 3D visualizations, allowing the team to realistically assess the new warehouse structures.
Implementation and Coordination
The implementation of the warehouse concept was carried out in carefully planned phases. Christian Franzke coordinated schedules, service providers, and suppliers to ensure all milestones were met on time.
The warehouse solutions were installed in close coordination with Schmid – with each phase of the process tailored to the specific and individual requirements.
